Few Coronavirus Deaths At Elmhurst Hospital

The pandemic continues, but at a low level at the local hospital.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Hospital's numbers show the pandemic continues, but at a diminished pace.

Since the pandemic's beginning, the hospital has reported 298 deaths from the coronavirus – a rate of 10.6 a month. In the last month, though, the hospital has seen two such deaths, less than a fifth of the average.

Since March, the number of coronavirus patients in the hospital has remained relatively low, ranging from one to 18.

The low of one case was reported on St. Patrick's Day.

As of Wednesday, the hospital was treating 11 patients for the coronavirus. That number has changed little in the last few weeks.
