ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst School District 205 continues to see fewer coronavirus cases, even though the district went mask optional three weeks ago.

As of Friday, 14 students had the coronavirus, amounting to a fifth of a percent of the student body. That's down from 30 cases a week earlier. Based on the current number, the district has one coronavirus case for every 600 students.

Most students aren't wearing masks. At last week's school board meeting, some members went maskless.
