ELMHURST, IL – The number of new students this fall dropped by 5.4 percent at Elmhurst University, but the 2024-25 incoming class was still reported as the third largest in the school's history.

For this school year, the university said it had an enrollment of 1,331 new students, down from 1,407 a year ago. In 2022, the school reported a record enrollment of new students, at 1,410.

In a news release, the university said its enrollment was strong. This was despite challenges students faced earlier this year as a result of the problematic rollout of a revised federal financial aid application, the school said.

The incoming class includes students from 17 countries and 25 states, with out-of-state students making up 15 percent of the total, the university said. Michigan and Texas lead with the most out-of-state students.
