Fewest Virus Cases At Elmhurst Hospital In 4 Months
The hospital has seen five deaths from the coronavirus in the last week, according to its report.

ELMHURST, IL – For the first time since late June, a weekly report from Elmhurst Hospital indicates the number of coronavirus patients is in the single digits.
As of Wednesday, the hospital reported it had nine coronavirus patients, down from 20 a week earlier. The last report indicating single digits was on June 29, when the number was also nine.
In the spring, the number of coronavirus patients was often in the single digits. On St. Patrick's Day, it was just one. In summer 2021, the caseload dropped to zero for a time.

The hospital's sister, Edward Hospital in Naperville, reported Wednesday it had six coronavirus patients, its lowest number since April.
As of Wednesday, the hospital has reported 319 deaths from the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic.

The rate of the hospital's coronavirus deaths per month is 10.3. That's down from 10.7 in early August.
