Fewest Virus Cases At Elmhurst Hospital Since June

The death rate is far down from earlier in the pandemic.

ELMHURST, IL – The coronavirus is still around, but it's at a low level.

As of Wednesday, Elmhurst Hospital reported treating 10 patients for the coronavirus. That's the lowest reported number since late June. In late July, the hospital had 22 such patients.

In August, the hospital reported a half dozen deaths resulting from the coronavirus. The total since the start of the pandemic is 306, with an average of 10.6 a month.

The hospital had the most coronavirus patients at one time on Nov. 17, 2021, at 84.

Since March, the number of such patients has been at a relatively low level, with just one case on St. Patrick's Day.
