On Tuesday, June 9, golfers, sponsors, supporters, and volunteers will gather to change the lives of children with hearing loss at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton. Registration is open to the public and can be found at www.childsvoice.org.

The event begins with a lunch buffet at 11 a.m. The scramble-format tee off is at 12:30 p.m. and many on-course contests will be held during the day. Golfing will end with a helicopter ball drop. A cocktail reception, dinner, silent auction, and alumni speakers begin at 5:30 p.m. Alumni sharing their stories this year include Olive Furmanek, Class of 2014.

Child’s Voice, based in Wood Dale and the Roscoe Village neighborhood in Chicago, helps children with hearing loss learn to listen and to speak. Students wear hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, and programs use a child-focused, research-based curriculum, all with the end goal of transitioning graduates back to their neighborhood schools. The Child’s Voice program serves nearly 400 children and their families each year.
