Heather Wandt, 30, Had a Passion for Law Enforcement, Animals
Heather Wandt was born in Elmhurst, and her brother, Nickolas, is an Elmhurst resident. Services will be held on Thursday and Friday in Naperville.

Heather K. Wandt, 30, of Oswego, died suddenly on Saturday, Aug. 3, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto accident in rural Livingston County, Ill. She was born May 6, 1983, in Elmhurst.
Heather was a 2001 graduate of Oswego High School. She went on to Waubonsee Community College to study criminal justice, and was attending the police academy at the University of Illinois in Champaign.
Law Enforcement was her passion, and she was employed as an officer with the Coal City Police Department in Coal City, lll. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Plainfield.
She is survived by her parents Peter A. and Miriam H. (nee Melendez) Wandt; her sister, Michele (John) Ratini, of Aurora; her brother, Nickolas, of Elmhurst; her fiancée, Pete Simonetti, of Oswego; her niece, Sophia Ratini; her nephews, Paolo Ratini and Alexander Wandt; and many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins.

Heather was an animal lover and is survived by her two beloved dogs, Chip and Ricky.
Visitation will take place from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1411 95th St., Naperville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at the church.
