IC Catholic Prep's Annual Junior High Dodgeball Tournament Crowns New Champion and Raises Funds for Team Trish and Gracious Gifts

On Saturday, November 1, 18 teams made up of over 120 students from area grade schools participated in the annual IC Catholic Prep Junior High Dodgeball Tournament to raise money for the winning team’s charity of choice. This marked the highest participation for this event to date.

The participating 7th and 8th grade teams registered in advance for the double-elimination tournament. The evening was full of fun and fierce competition as each team made a play to advance to the finals and the ultimate dodgeball crown. The championship game kept the fans on the edge of their seats. In an all-Immaculate Conception Grade School final, the “Bomb Squad” defeated “Skillz That Killz” to take the title match.

All of the teams were encouraged to design their own shirts and come up with unique names for their respective teams The prize for “Best Team T-Shirt”, voted on by the IC Catholic Prep student volunteers, was awarded to “The Goofy Goobers” of Visitation Grade School in Elmhurst. Concessions were available throughout the evening, and family and friends stayed to cheer on their favorite dodgeball team, as the students enjoyed the friendly competition.

Congratulations to Danny Perotti, Troy Siranovic, Thomas Hilgart, McKenzie Moorman, Ryan Kenneally, Alexis Attard, Mary Kate Kapsch, and Mikey Pedote of Immaculate Conception Grade School who announced that they were playing for Team Trish and the Gracious Gifts organization. IC Catholic Prep would like to thank “Bomb Squad,” and all the teams, for giving up their Saturday night to play for a great cause.
