ICGS 3rd Graders Remember the First Thanksgiving

On Thursday, Nov. 17th, 3rd grade students at Immaculate Conception Grade School gathered for a meal reminiscent of the first Thanksgiving.

On Thursday, November 17th, third grade students at Immaculate Conception Grade School in Elmhurst gathered in the parish’s Monsignor Plunkett Hall to celebrate a traditional Thanksgiving Feast. After weeks of learning about the first Thanksgiving in social studies class, students were asked to dress as either Native Americans or a pilgrims for this annual 3rd grade event. After a blessing given by IC Parochial Vicar, Father Chris Lankford, students dove into a meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and all the trimmings, prepared by their parents.
