The “Sister Rose Anita McDonnell, IHM Award” honors an educator who has contributed significantly to the field of mathematics in education in Catholic schools. It recognizes an outstanding educator who possesses a true love of mathematics and challenges students to excel in math. Sister Rose Anita co-authored the Sadlier mathematics program, “Progress in Mathematics,” and served her religious community, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, for over seventy-five years. On Tuesday, April 23rd, during the NCEA convention which was held at McCormick Place in Chicago, this national award was presented to Ms. Christina Novak, a Math Specialist at Immaculate Conception Grade School.
