ICGS "Moves Their Feet" to Promote Catholic Education Scholarships

On Oct. 16th, the ICGS participated in a walk to raise awareness and funds for diocesan Catholic education scholarships.

On the morning of Friday, October 16th, after their weekly all-school Mass, students and faculty at Immaculate Conception Grade School in Elmhurst took part in an effort to raise funds and awareness for need-based Catholic education scholarships in their diocese. This effort, “Move Your Feet to Give a Child a Seat,” was initiated by the Joliet Diocese’s Catholic Education Foundation, which helps more than 1300 students receive a Catholic education annually. Founded in 1996, the CEF, a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable corporation, directly distributes more than 1.8 million dollars in need-based scholarships each year. ICGS enlisted all students in grades 1 through 8 to walk around the school’s neighborhood block, while stopping at each corner to say a short prayer. ICGS families were asked to consider making a donation to this fundraising effort.
