ICGS Teachers & Students Get into E-Learning Groove
Students at Immaculate Conception Grade School in Elmhurst began their online learning on March 17th, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
On the afternoon of Friday, March 13th, parents at Immaculate Conception Grade School learned that the school would be closed Monday, March 16th, due to the Coronovirus pandemic. Students were told to bring home books in anticipation of continuing their studies at home until otherwise notified. Students were given the school's Chromebook computers to aid in their online learning. Ms. Katy Rudis, ICGS’ Technology Specialist, scheduled prep sessions with teachers throughout the week leading up to the closing so that teachers were ready to begin E-learning with students on Tuesday, March 17th. In addition to creating lesson plans in the primary subjects, assorted Art projects and Physical Education activities were also made available for students. ICGS Principal, Mrs. Cathy Linley emphasized in school communications that she felt it was important for students at every grade level to reinforce and expand their learning regardless of whether or not they were in the school building. ICGS' week-long spring break period begins March 20th.
