Illegal Fireworks, Wallet Theft: La Grange Cops

A man was charged after he set off fireworks in a village parking garage, police said.

LA GRANGE, IL – La Grange police released their latest blotter Friday. Here is information from the reports:

Illegal fireworks

  • Ryan Machine, 18, of Burbank, was cited about 9:30 p.m. July 4 on charges of discharge of prohibited fireworks and damage to village property. Police said Machine set off fireworks in a parking garage.

  • A person at the La Grange hospital, 5101 Willow Springs Road, told police that someone stole $230 from a wallet July 7.

Scam

  • A resident in the 300 block of South Ashland Avenue told police Monday about receiving phone calls from someone claiming an issue with the resident's Amazon account. The resident hung up on the stranger. No financial loss was reported.

Stolen bike

  • A child's bicycle was stolen overnight July 7 at Cossitt Elementary School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave. It was described as a black and blue GT mountain bike, worth about $500.

Driving violations

  • Ariel Quintana-Orozco, 29, of Melrose Park, was cited about 2 a.m. Thursday at La Grange and Homestead roads on charges of having no valid driver's license, failing to display a valid registration sticker, driving an uninsured vehicle and speeding.
