Illinois Solar Tour Comes to Elmhurst
Five Elmhurst solar homes, with many more throughout DuPage, are featured on the tour.
The Illinois Solar Tour comes to Elmhurst on Sat., Sept. 30, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., with five neighborhood homes featured.
This free event offers the opportunity to tour innovative green homes to learn how solar energy can be used efficiently. The tour hopes to inspire people across the state and within Elmhurst to make sustainable energy choices that reduce costs, support energy independence, protect against power outages and reduce carbon emissions.
There are three types of tours:

- In-Person: The homeowner will be available to talk about their installation and answer questions.
- Video: The homeowner filmed a video tour of their system, which is viewable online.
- Walk-By Solar Home: The home or business owner will not be available to greet visitors. Visitors can view the system from outside.
Watch video tours at your convenience. Then on Sat., Sept. 30, any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., visit any or all of the in-person and walk-by tours within Elmhurst or in nearby communities.
