Intoxicated Elmhurst Woman Climbs Through Neighbor's Bedroom Window, Leaves Purse Behind: Cops

The young woman believes she mistakenly broke into her neighbor's place, police said.

An intoxicated Elmhurst woman allegedly broke through a window screen and climbed into a neighbor’s bedroom thinking she was entering her own apartment.

The woman who actually does live in the Spring Road apartment returned home about 9 a.m. Monday and noticed that “her bedroom window (was) opened and the screen to the window was ripped,” police said.

An officer reportedly spotted a purse near the window and tracked it back to another Spring Road apartment resident, 23-year-old Madeline Short.
