Jazz it Up, Rock the House or Go Classical This Weekend

So much to do, you'd better get started.

It's finally the weekend, and there's so much to do in town we hardly know where to start. In addition to some great art exhibits, open gyms and open swims, there are some very worthwhile fund-raisers in town. How about donating to the to honor a York student killed by a drunk driver, or the famous for the York Athletic Boosters?

We've selected a few other ideas that will certainly keep you busy. We couldn't possibly list them all here, so check out our calendar for more events. And, as always, if you don't see it here, let us know in the comments.

What: Trippin Billies—a Dave Matthews Tribute Band
When/Where: 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at , 119 N. York St.
Why Go: Who doesn't love DMB? It's a great opportunity to unwind after a long week.
Cost: $7

What:
When/Where: all day, all weekend, beginning at 11:30 a.m. each day at Elmhurst College's , 190 S. Prospect Ave.
Why Go: This one's a no-brainer. Awesome jazz bands from colleges all over the country will converge for one, non-stop zat zobba ziggety good time.

What: Eco Families Maple Syrup Cooking
When/Where: noon Saturday at Eldridge Park, 363 W. Commonwealth Lane
Why Go: Join the winter fun at as we tap trees, collect sap, and boil the syrup. Learn about the syrup-making process through our family-oriented activities, and go home with your own jar of homemade syrup.
Cost: $50 for residents, $63 for nonresidents

What: Yorkfield Pancake Day
When/Where: 7 a.m. Sunday at Yorkfield Civic Center, 15W354 Lexington St.
Why Go: All you can eat, a raffle and fun with neighbors.
Cost: $5, $3 for kids

What: Elmhurst Symphony Presents "Mozart Requiem"
When/Where: 3 p.m. Sunday, , 149 W. Brush Hill Road
Why Go: the ESO and Apollo Chorus will come together around Handel’s Dettingen Te Deum and Mozart’s Requiem. Guest artists for the concert are soloists Sarah Gartshore, soprano; Nina Heebink, mezzo-soprano; Harold Brock, tenor, and David Govertsen, bass-baritone.
Cost: $31
