Juvenile Arrested for Putting Skimming Device on ATM in Elmhurst
Skimming devices are usually put over an ATM's card reader to collect PIN and debit card information.

A juvenile was arrested June 8 in Elmhurst for placing a skimming device on the ATM at MB Financial Bank at 990 North York Street, according to Elmhurst police.

A bank employee said bank security told him several MB Financial Bank locations were found to have skimming devices placed on their ATMS. The employee checked the ATM and found the skimming device on it, police reported. Security is trying to obtain surveillance footage.

The juvenile was arrested after he came back to retrieve the skimming device. The juvenile was charged with financial identity theft and was taken to Kane County Juvenile Detention Center.
