Elmhurst D205 To Hold Rare Session On Personnel Issues
The school board plans to close its doors to discuss specific employees and union negotiations.

ELMHURST, IL – The Elmhurst School District 205 board is holding a rare special closed meeting on personnel issues Monday.
The session is set for 2 p.m. in the district's central office. Most board meetings are at night.
In addition to personnel, the board is expected to discuss union negotiations. The board's meeting agenda does not indicate which union, and board President Athena Arvanitis would not say in response to a Patch inquiry.

The board said it would not take any action after it opens the doors.
The teachers union's contract expires in a year, while two smaller unions' agreements expire in 2025 and 2026.

The board typically holds closed sessions for more than an hour before its regular meetings. But the matters in Monday's session may require urgency. The board is not set to hold a regular meeting until July 25, which would be the first one in six weeks.
