Lombard Man Sexually Abused Girls He Contacted Online: Prosecutors

LOMBARD, IL – A Lombard man contacted girls through social media and sexually abused two of them at his home, authorities said Monday.

Adam Johnson, 25, who lives in the 2200 block of Highland Avenue, faces three counts of criminal sexual assault, six counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of possession of child sexual abuse material, prosecutors said in a news release.

A judge ordered that Johnson be held in the DuPage County Jail until his trial.

The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information about Johnson is asked to contact the police.

Prosecutors said the allegations emerged through the DuPage County Children's Advocacy Center's efforts to combat child sex abuse.

Johnson targeted multiple underage girls on social media, arranged to meet them and engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct with at least two, according to the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.

Prosecutors alleged that from January 2023, to January 2025, Johnson sexually abused a girl who was born in 2008 on multiple occasions at his Lombard apartment and sexually assaulted her in another case.

Prosecutors further alleged that on Feb. 15, 2025, Johnson sexually assaulted and abused a second girl who was born in 2010 at his apartment.

Following the investigation, DuPage County Judge Michael Burton issued an arrest warrant for Johnson on July 26, prosecutors said.

A day later, Lombard police officers arrested Johnson.
