The suburb decided against investigating because the incident involved another law enforcement agency, an official said.

LOMBARD, IL – Lombard police this week acknowledged an incident that occurred last month involving federal agents and students from Elmhurst's York High School.

Lombard police were contacted a couple of days after the Oct. 4 incident, which took place in a parking lot of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, spokesperson Stephanie Calvillo told Patch in an email.

"Because the situation involved another law enforcement agency, Lombard Police did not conduct an investigation," Calvillo said.

At Monday's City Council meeting, Alderman Guido Nardini told his colleagues that York High students were pulled out of a car at gunpoint in the parking lot. The students were told there were riots in the area and that they should move on, he said.

Calvillo said no riots or other significant events were reported on Oct. 4 in Lombard.

In his comments, Nardini suggested the council take measures to deal with the increasing presence of federal immigration agents in the Chicago area.
