Loud Swearing In Elmhurst Restaurant Gets Man Charged: Cops

In another case, a man's attack on a woman left her with a bloody nose and bruised eye, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of disorderly conduct, domestic battery, aggravated fleeing and DUI. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst arrest log:

Disorderly conduct

  • A 43-year-old Antioch man was cited about 7:30 p.m. Saturday on a disorderly conduct charge. Police said the incident occurred at Steak Burrito Mexican Grill, 929 S. York St. Police said the man loudly swore in front of staff and customers. This was after he had been asked to leave several businesses. He was released.

Domestic battery

  • A 47-year-old Glendale Heights man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Extended Stay America hotel, 550 W. Grand Ave., on two counts of domestic battery. During an argument, the man punched a woman on the right side of her face four times, causing a bloody nose and bruised eye. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Aggravated fleeing

  • Jamal Turner, 25, of Chicago, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a suspended license, marijuana possession, no license plate on car, obstructed windshield and driving an uninsured car. Police said Turner failed to stop for an officer and sped away shortly before midnight Tuesday, last seen heading east on Interstate 290, police said. He was apprehended the next day. The incident started at Interstate 290 and St. Charles Road.

  • A 35-year-old Oak Lawn man was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Route 83 and North Avenue on charges of DUI (drugs), possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing identification, suspended registration, driving with no insurance, illegal parking in the roadway and marijuana possession. He was taken to the hospital and then the police station, where he was released.
  • A 36-year-old South Holland woman was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Road and Fair Avenue on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. She was taken to the police station and then released.
  • A 23-year-old Bellwood man was arrested about 3 a.m. Sunday at Lake Street and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage, driving an uninsured car and having no driver's license on his person. He was taken to the police station and then released.
