Man Accused of Vandalism In Downtown Hinsdale
Thefts at local park and nursing home are reported to police.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police responded to incidents of vandalism and theft in recent days. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police blotter:
- James Joseph Nash, 68, of Willowbrook, was charged about 11:30 p.m. May 31 with two counts of violating the village's vandalism ordinance. He was seen writing on storefront windows with a red marker at Page's Restaurant, 26 E. Hinsdale Ave., and Hinsdale News Agency, 24 E. Hinsdale Ave. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- A theft occurred at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home, 600 W. Ogden Ave., between 10 a.m. May 24 and 3 p.m. May 27. The victim told police that $43 was missing from a wallet that he stored in a cabinet in his room.
- A bicycle valued at $600 was stolen between 6 and 7 p.m. May 27 in Robbins Park near Community House, 415 W. Eighth St., while a man was jogging in the park. The unlocked bicycle was left on the park's walking path.
- A suspect made five fraudulent purchases May 26 through an online retailer with the credit card of a resident in the 900 block of Allmen Avenue.
- Anthony J. Lastovich, 30, of Chicago, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. May 27 at Ogden Avenue and York Road on charges of driving with a suspended license and improper lighting. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
