Man Arrested In Fatal I-355 DUI Crash: Police

The crash left one woman dead and multiple people injured, authorities said.

ADDISON, IL – A Cicero man has been charged after a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 355 in Addison left multiple people injured and a 65-year-old Arizona woman dead, state police said.

State police arrested 50-year-old Adolfo Carrillo after Friday's crash.

Carrillo was charged with aggravated DUI causing death, a felony, state police said.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. May 1 on I-355 northbound at Army Trail Road in Addison. State police said troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a gray Ford pickup truck and a gray Lexus SUV.

The Ford was merging onto I-355 when it struck the passenger side of the Lexus. Carrillo, who state police identified as the Ford's driver, was taken to an area hospital with injuries, authorities said.

State police said the driver of the Lexus and two passengers also were taken to an area hospital with injuries. One of those passengers, the Arizona woman, was later pronounced dead.

DuPage County prosecutors identified the woman as Rebeca Hidalgo and said she was with her two adult children in the car.

State police said Carrillo is being held pending his first court appearance. His blood-alcohol level was reported at .10, prosecutors said.
