Man Indicted For Robbing Elmhurst Bank Twice: Prosecutors
He brandished a gun in five of his six bank robberies, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging a man with twice robbing an Elmhurst bank as well as others in the Chicago suburbs, prosecutors announced Thursday.
German Campos, 24, of Franklin Park, committed the robberies over the last year, brandishing a handgun in five of the six, authorities said.
He is accused of robbing U.S. Bank, 536 S. York St., on Dec. 16 and June 13.

In the first Elmhurst robbery, Campos implied he had a weapon, but did not show it, while in the second case, he displayed a handgun, Elmhurst police said.
Campos is also charged with robbing U.S. Bank branches on Oct. 28 and March 6 in Schaumburg and Aug. 28 in Niles and a BMO Bank branch on Aug. 9 in Park Ridge.

Campos is charged with six counts of bank robbery, each of which is punishable by up to 20 years in federal prison, and five counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, each of which brings a mandatory minimum sentence of seven years, prosecutors said.
