Man Interrupts Elmhurst School Board Meeting
He accused the board of opposing requiring parental consent for children's medications.

ELMHURST, IL – A man interrupted the Elmhurst School District 205 board meeting on Tuesday night, asking members to sign a petition calling for mandating parental consent for gender identification counseling.
After conservative activist Tom Chavez spoke about the petition, the man approached the board about it. He did not identify himself.
"I have petitions here," he said. "All this is doing is getting the question on the ballot. If anybody here would like to sign it, I'll be happy to pass it."

"Thank you," board President Athena Arvanitis said. "We're going back to our board agenda, sir."
As he walked toward the board table with the petition, Arvanitis said, "Sir, please don't approach this area. We'll reach out to you if we are interested in signing the petition."

The man then said the board does not want parental consent required for their children's medication.
Arvanitis said, "Sir, what you are stating is not true. We are here in our board rules."
Raising his voice, the man said, "You are here to represent the people of this community."
He then walked away.
Speakers during public comments sign up before the meeting and then go to the podium once they're called. The man's name apparently was not on the list.
