Man Punches Elmhurst Cop During Disturbance: Police
Another man kept getting arrested for trespassing at various places downtown.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated battery, trespassing, drug possession and DUI. Here is information from the reports:
Aggravated battery
- Ryan Nelson, 23, of Aurora, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of South Kenmore Avenue on charges of aggravated battery and resisting a police officer. Police said Nelson shouted at officers and then punched one of them. Officers were responding to a domestic disturbance at an apartment. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
Trespassing

- A 61-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 p.m. Friday at Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant, 117 W. First St., on a charge of trespassing. Police said the man was drunk and refused to leave the business. About 6 p.m. Thursday, the same man was charged with possession of liquor in public at Pilot Pete's Coffee & Treats, 128 W. First St. About 8:30 a.m. Saturday, he was again charged with liquor in public at the police station, 125 E. First St. Police said they heard the man calling for help in the restroom in the men's lobby. All three times, he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital.
Drugs
- A 43-year-old Blue Island man was arrested about 5 p.m. Thursday at Clarion Inn, 933 S. Riverside Drive, on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Police said they were called because the man refused to leave the hotel. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- Servando Salazar, 59, of Rolling Meadows, was arrested about 7 p.m. Saturday at Howard and Armitage avenues on charges of aggravated DUI, aggravated driving with a revoked license, resisting a police officer, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving an uninsured car. Police said they found Salazar asleep behind the wheel. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 53-year-old Maywood man was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Friday at Roosevelt Road and York Street on charges of DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 52-year-old River Grove man was arrested about 3 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East Lake Street on charges of DUI, engaging in a fight and possession of open alcohol. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 22-year-old Addison man was arrested about noon Saturday at Route 83 and St. Charles Road on charges of DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 21-year-old Park Ridge man was arrested about 4 p.m. Saturday at Madison Street and Spring Road on charges of DUI, driving an uninsured car and disobeying a stop sign. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 38-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 1 a.m. Sunday at Addison and North avenues on charges of DUI, unlawful marijuana possession by a driver, possession of more than 30 grams but less than 100 grams of marijuana, disobeying a traffic control device and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the police station and then released.
- A 27-year-old Addison man was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at North Avenue and Route 83 on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and failure to signal when required. He was taken to the police station and then released.
