ELMHURST, IL – In recent days, Elmhurst police arrested people on charges of aggravated assault, DUI, drug possession and visitation interference. Here is information from the reports:

Aggravated assault

  • Wesley Owens-Bey, 61, of Bellwood, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. Sunday at Shell gas station, 218 E. Butterfield Road, on charges of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, DUI (drugs) and unlawful use of a weapon. Police said Owens-Bey threatened someone else with an ax and was found to be under the influence of drugs. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Josue M. Lopez Patishtan, 22, of Addison, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of North York Street on charges of DUI, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver, driving an uninsured car, transportation or possession of open alcohol by a driver, improper lighting and improper lane usage. He was released on bond.
  • Jose Frias Valerrama, 44, of Bloomingdale, was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Friday at Route 83 and North Avenue on four DuPage County warrants and charges of aggravated DUI, resisting a police officer, driving with a revoked license, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
  • Michael Zachman, 57, of Aurora, was arrested about 8 p.m. Friday at St. Charles Road and Hagans Avenue on charges of DUI and speeding. He was released on bond.
  • Carlos R. Sandoval, 22, of Posen, was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of West Lake Street on charges of cocaine possession, DUI, possession of marijuana by a driver, resisting a peace officer and obstructing a police officer. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Visitation interference

  • Teena M. Rubright, 28, of Melrose Park, was cited about 9 a.m. Sunday at Portillo's, 155 S. Route 83, on a charge of unlawful visitation interference. She was charged with a similar offense in April. She was released on bond.

  • Manuel Alejandro Reyes, 25, of Bensenville, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Route 83 and North Avenue on Franklin Park warrants and charges of possession of alcohol in a vehicle and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released on bond.
  • Dajon Jones, 22, of Chicago, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Saturday at North and Villa avenues on a DuPage County warrant and a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released on bond.
