Man Touches Woman's Leg At Elmhurst Train Station: Cops

She decided against pressing charges, but he was arrested on an existing warrant, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled incidents involving a battery at the train station, threatening messages and a fugitive driver. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports:

Battery

  • Police were called about a homeless 63-year-old man who was believed to have touched a woman's leg about 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the train depot, 128 W. First St. Police found the man, who has been arrested frequently in Elmhurst, was wanted on a DuPage County trespassing warrant. He was taken to the police station, issued a new court date and then released. The victim declined to press battery charges.

Threatening messages

  • A resident in the 100 block of East Quincy Street told police Friday that he received threatening emails and text messages from a girl he met online.

Fugitive driver

  • A police officer tried to stop a gray Cadillac CTS about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The driver sped away, last seen passing York Street and Fremont Avenue. An investigation is pending.
