
UPDATE 1:15 p.m. March 22: Elmhurst Deputy Chief Dan Buenz had the following comment with regard to this story:
"I have reviewed every piece of the report and I'm finding our actions are well in line with legal and every other justification. To start this mutual engagement, to fight this out through the press, we're not going to do that. We'll let this play through the courts. We don't testify through the news."

Elmhurst police had their hands full when several men reportedly became violent at Spring Inn, 552 S. Spring Road, at 9:52 p.m. March 12.
Police responded to Spring Inn for a report of a fight in progress, and they were told Bryan B. Connell, 25, 806 Hillside, Elmhurst, was in possession of knives. While trying to restrain him, police said they were battered by Brian R. Connell, 53, and Steven R. Connell, 24, of the same address.

Bryan B. Connell was arrested and charged with battery. He was released on I-bond. Steven Connell was arrested and charged with resisting arrest and aggravated battery. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.
During the altercation, Jeremy A. Tuckermiller, 27, 16128 Maple Grove, Shannon, refused to leave the scene. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on I-bond.
