Management Change Made In Elmhurst 205
New superintendent makes her first major adjustment in the upper tiers at central office.

ELMHURST, IL — After nearly a month at the helm, Elmhurst's new schools superintendent, Keisha Campbell, has made her first major change at the school district's central office. The school board approved the move Wednesday.
Scott Grens, assistant superintendent of innovation and systems management, was promoted to interim associate superintendent. The board did not reveal what type of salary increase, if any, that Grens would receive. He has worked for the district for three years.
Elmhurst School District 205 last employed an associate superintendent two years ago, in addition to three assistant superintendents. Grens was one of four assistant superintendents.

Board member Karen Stuefen supported the move.
"Keisha, I commend you for listening to everyone and looking at the organization and stepping forward. A lot of people say they're going to take the first year just to listen. I don't want to minimize that because it serves us well," Stuefen said. "But I also like your courage to start the process and move forward together."

Member Jim Collins was equally supportive of Campbell's decision.
"When you showed me your proposed work chart a few weeks ago, I thought, 'That's smart.' It frees you up to do what you need to do for the district. I've gotten to know Dr. Grens pretty well the last three years. He has my head spinning. Is this your fifth title within three years?" Collins said. "He has stepped up to do everything we asked him to do these last three years. I truly think you picked the right person to do the job."
The vote for Grens was unanimous. Member Athena Arvanitis was absent.
