Most COVID-19 Cases At Elmhurst Hospital In 9 Months

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Hospital is seeing the most patients with the coronavirus since early February, according to its latest report.

As of Wednesday, the hospital had 28 coronavirus patients, nearly double the number from a week earlier. Feb. 8 was the last time the hospital reported as many as 28 coronavirus patients.

In early November, the hospital was seeing nine coronavirus patients. It was the first time since June that the number was in the single digits.

The pace of the hospital's coronavirus-cased deaths has slowed in 2022.

As of Wednesday, the hospital reported 322 such deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.

The rate of the hospital's coronavirus deaths per month is 10. That's down from 10.3 in early November and 10.7 in early August.

Elmhurst Hospital serves an area far larger than Elmhurst.
