ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst University is planning a new health sciences building in place of the existing Memorial Hall.

On Monday, the Elmhurst City Council is set to consider the plan. It's already been approved by the city's Zoning and Planning Commission.

According to a city memo, the school is specifically requesting to exceed the maximum building height by 2 feet, for a total of 47 feet. The university may not need the additional height after it presents its final development plan, the memo said.
