New Elmhurst Health Facility Has Eco-Friendly Features

Fitness Formula Clubs Elmhurst location will open later this year.

ELMHURST, IL — A new Fitness Formula Clubs health and wellness facility which will open later this year in Elmhurst has many eco-friendly features in its building. According to a release, the 60,000-square-foot facility, FFC Elmhurst, will be located on Addison between First and Second in downtown Elmhurst.

The facility will utilize LED lighting to reduce the average lighting power density, according to the business. This will result in less electrical demand and annual power consumption. The business also uses recycled ECO by Consentino Countertop Surfaces. The countertops in the facility are made of 75 percent recycled materials like mirror, glass and porcelain.

Other eco-friendly additions to the facility include the use of cork in the spa facility and waiting room walls. This cork is obtained from outer bark of a tree, and it does not kill the tree to harvest it. Low flow water savers are also used in the sinks, rain shower heads, toilets and urinals, according to the business.
