New Lows In Virus Cases At Elmhurst Hospital
The hospital has not seen such low levels since late June.

ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst Hospital is only seeing a handful of coronavirus patients each day, according to its numbers.
The hospital had been issuing a media report each weekday, but they have become more periodic in the last couple of weeks. That's likely because of the waning pandemic.
Since mid-March, the hospital has seen no more than five coronavirus patients at a time, according to its numbers. On March 17, it had just one. It last reached such a low level in late June.

As of last Wednesday, the hospital reported treating four coronavirus patients. One was vaccinated, while the other three were not.
No one died from the coronavirus in the last two weeks of March, according to the hospital. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of such deaths at the hospital is 287.

Since March 2020, Elmhurst Hospital has discharged 2,920 COVID-19 patients.
Elmhurst Hospital serves an area far larger than Elmhurst. But the city's numbers are an indicator of what's happening. Last week, Elmhurst experienced 13 new coronavirus cases, according to the DuPage County Health Department. That was a decrease from the previous week's 42.
The city reached a weekly high of 599 in January.
