New Principal Named at Bryan Middle School

Jacquelyn Discipio comes to Elmhurst from Naperville School District 203.

​At a special meeting held Monday evening, July 27, the District 205 Board of Education confirmed Jacquelyn Discipio as the new principal of Bryan Middle School.

Discipio comes to Elmhurst from Naperville School District 203, where she has served as assistant principal of Washington Junior High School for the last two years.

Prior to that, she was an English teacher and served in various leadership positions from 2005 until 2013 at Naperville North High School, where she was the head varsity girls basketball coach and assistant athletic director for five years. She also served as a high school dean for three years, the NNHS Freshman Year Information Program Coordinator for two years and the Director of District 203’s Junior High Summer School for two summers.

Jacquie holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Northern Illinois University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University. As an undergraduate, she also completed a study abroad program with the University of Florence, Italy.

Elmhurst District 205 Superintendent Dr. David Moyer noted that “Jacquie is an up and comer who comes to us with tremendous potential to grow into an excellent leader. We are more than pleased to welcome her to our team.”

Regarding her new appointment, Discipio said “I am honored to serve as the Bryan Middle School Principal and continue the tradition of excellence in Elmhurst. I am excited to begin building relationships with parents, students, and staff as we all work to support the academic, social and emotional growth of students at Bryan.”

Also joining the Bryan leadership team is Jason Crockett, who was named the new Assistant Principal of Bryan Middle School at the end of May. Mr. Crockett joins District 205 from Peacock Middle School in Itasca District 10, where he taught 8th grade social studies for 10 years, spent 250 hours in an internship to the principal and held various leadership positions. He holds a B.A. in history from Western Illinois University and two Masters of Education degrees (one in School Leadership and one in Curriculum and Instruction) from Concordia University in River Forest.
