New Restaurant 'Monster Eats' Opening In Elmhurst

The new restaurant will open on Sept. 13 in Elmhurst.

ELMHURST, IL — A new restaurant featuring sandwiches and sliders will open in Elmhurst on Wednesday. Monster Eats will open at 116 W. Park Ave., and will debut in the same restaurant area as Chow. Chow will continue to operate a catering business from the location, according to the city.

New owner Lee Varon, who has 34 years of experience in the restaurant industry and took over Chow earlier this year, is excited to bring a new concept to Elmhurst, the city said. The Monster Eats menu will feature cold sandwiches as before, but now will also include hot chef inspired sandwiches and sliders made from a blend of bison, beef short rib and traditional ground beef, and will be ground, blended, and hand formed daily.

According to the city, other specialties at the new restaurant will include Lee's famous pizza wantons, scratch-made desserts, and homemade duck fat fried chips. Monster Eats will also showcase a new kids menu featuring many selections, including six different peanut butter sandwiches such as the Little Elvis, Fluffernutter, and The Angry Teddy Bear.
