Pair Rob Woman In Downtown Elmhurst: Cops

They stole a wallet from the woman's purse in broad daylight, police said.

ELMHURST, IL – A man and a woman stole a wallet last week after a struggle with a victim over her purse in downtown Elmhurst, police said.

The robbery happened about 3:30 p.m. Friday near Park Avenue and Adell Place, police said.

The man and woman sped away, but police said they found the suspects' vehicle.

Bryan C. Romolt, 30, and Tiffany M. Blanco, 23, both of Willow Springs, were arrested on charges of robbery. They were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Romolt was also charged with failing to yield at a T-intersection, failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Blanco faces charges of driving with a suspended license, disobeying a stop sign and driving an uninsured vehicle.

It was unclear why both suspects face driving-related charges.
