Possible Hazard Pay For District 86 Workers

Forty-six employees would get one-time payments because of their work during pandemic.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale High School District 86 is considering giving employees hazard pay for doing work on-site throughout the pandemic. The money would be for building and grounds, security and IT employees.

Forty-six employees would benefit — 23 in buildings and grounds, 15 in security and eight in IT. Each employee would get $1,000, for a total of $46,000. They would be lump-sum, one-time payments.

The school board's finance committee will take up the issue at its meeting Wednesday.
