'Possible Threat' Leads To York High Event Cancellation: District

ELMHURST, IL – A middle school track meet scheduled for Wednesday at York High School was canceled because of "a possible threat related to students that could be attending," the school district informed families beforehand.

"Due to this, and out of an abundance of caution, all participating districts decided that it was in the best interest of the students’ safety to cancel the track meet," the district said in its alert.

A district spokeswoman had no more information about the situation Friday morning.
