Pro-Impeachment Rally in Elmhurst Draws More Than 150

ELMHURST, IL — More than 150 people attended a rally early Tuesday evening calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump. Speakers addressed the crowd from the steps of Elmhurst's Wilder Mansion.
With the mercury dipping below 25 degrees, many of the people held signs with sayings such as "Impeach Agent Orange." The crowd was told the United States cannot accept corruption in the White House. Speakers argued Trump's call for Ukraine to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden was an abuse of power. The audience sang, "This Land is My Land."
The Elmhurst rally was one of hundreds across the country on the eve of the House impeachment vote. The Democratic-controlled House is expected to approve charges against the president, while the Senate is expected to vote against removing him from office.

At the edge of the Elmhurst crowd stood three pro-Trump demonstrators. One of them held a sign showing support for the president. Another waved an American flag. One of the men, Eddy, an Elmhurst resident who declined to give his last name, said a few made wise comments to them, but he said the crowd was "very nice" overall.
He said he didn't blame the pro-impeachment demonstrators for wanting to impeach the president. They have been misled by the news media, he said.
