Real Estate Group Moves Into Vacant Building In Downtown Elmhurst
New Home Star will take over the vacant building at 145 W. Second in downtown Elmhurst.

ELMHURST, IL — A building that has been vacant for over a decade will be the new location for New Home Star, a national real estate group. According to the city's website, this move will be the catalyst for redevelopment of the northwest corner of Addison and Second in downtown Elmhurst.
New Home Star will be located at 145 W. Second, and will repurpose the 3,500 square foot building into an office, according to the city. New Home Star has also purchased and since closed the adjoining Clark Gas Station at 168 N. Addison. The city said the real estate group plans to build a new multi-story office building within the next several years at that location.
According to a release, in March, the city council voted in favor of providing TIF assistance to the project, including assistance with the demolition and environmental remediation of the gas station site.
