Jeff Shapiro, owner of Real Urban Barbecue, stepped away from the smokers to pose for a quick photo.

Highland Park native Jeff Shapiro launched Real Urban Barbecue, located at 610 Central Avenue #177 in downtown Highland Park, in November of 2010, opened the doors of their second location in Vernon Hills at 1260 South Milwaukee Avenue in July 2012, and proudly opened for business in Oak Brook at 2119 Clearwater Drive off of York and 22ndStreet in November 2014.
