Route 83 Closed Near Bensenville For Crash Clean-Up

BENSENVILLE, IL - Northbound Route 83 near Bensenville is still closed for clean-up after a crash from earlier this afternoon.

According to police, a three vehicle crash happened 12:30 p.m. Tuesday on northbound Route 83, north of I-290, at Route 83 at Frontage Road in unincorporated Bensenville. Traffic is being diverted to Lake Street, eastbound I-290 and westbound I-290.

Police said the crash involved one passenger vehicle and two commercial vehicles. One driver was transported to Loyola Hospital.

The Felony Investigative Assistance Team is on scene assisting with the investigation. Detectives are asking that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Det. Jeff Leonard at 630-407-2400.

IDOT said Route 83 will reopen to one lane this evening.
