Sandwich Chain Opening Elmhurst Location

It will be next to a craft beer shop in downtown Elmhurst.

ELMHURST, IL – Pronto Italian Sandwiches, which operates three other locations in the area, plans to open next week in Elmhurst.

The opening is set for 11 a.m. next Monday at 105 N. York St., next to the Beer on the Wall craft beer shop.

Pronto Italian Sandwiches is only a couple of years old, with locations in Hinsdale, Des Plaines and Naperville.

Many of its sandwiches are named after Hollywood figures with Italian names – Tarantino, DeVito, Sinatra, Coppola, DeCaprio, Pacino, Stallone and Scorsese.

Last fall, Naperville Community Television reported that many of the restaurant's main ingredients, including its meats, are imported from Italy.

Peter Burdi, the chain's owner, told the station that the Tarantino is the most popular sandwich, which features roasted turkey, microgreens, avocado and cheddar.

Pronto Italian Sandwiches opened up as a pop-up shop at Il Poggiolo restaurant in Hinsdale, which closed after 17 years in 2024. Pronto then opened a place at 114 S. Washington St. in Hinsdale.
