ELMHURST, IL — The car owned by Jake Cefolia, the missing United Airlines executive from Elmhurst, was seen at a local gas station a day after a family member reported last seeing him, according to a police report.

In the video, a man is seen getting out of Cefolia's black Range Rover at 9:19 a.m. Aug. 7 at Shell gas station, 301 W. Butterfield Road. He then apparently pumped gas for about three minutes. He was last seen about 8 p.m. the day before.

Elmhurst police obtained a copy of the transaction from the store's computer and determined that the credit card used belonged to Cefolia, according to a police report. Police do not say in the report whether the man in the video is Cefolia.

Police contacted Cefolia's credit card company and found that Cefolia had no credit card transactions since Aug. 7. The last one was at the Shell gas station at 218 E. Butterfield Road, which is a few blocks from the one seen in the video.

The police also looked at Cefolia's checking account. He had had no transactions since his disappearance, other than those for automatic bill payments, police said. The bank told police Cefolia made no large cash withdrawals in the 10 days before his disappearance.
