Sen. Chris Nybo reacts to school funding reform passing Illinois Senate
This week the Illinois Senate approved historic reforms to the state's school funding formula.

Nybo responds to approved school funding agreement
SPRINGFIELD — State Senator Chris Nybo (R-Elmhurst) releases the below statement following the House and Senate approval of Senate Bill 1947, a bipartisan school funding plan to address Illinois’ broken school funding formula and its inequities.
“Students are back in school, and it is now past time for the state to do its job and ensure funding for our schools. Today, we reached a bipartisan agreement across parties and chambers that replaces the broken formula with a school funding plan that treats all 852 school districts in Illinois fairly and equitably, prioritizes funding for low-income school districts, and creates new opportunities for students in our most challenged districts. Our students’ education is a unifying issue always, and I think this proposal advances much-needed school funding reform for Illinois students.”
