'Senior Assassin' Banned At York Campus
Students alerted the school to a social media post involving guns and York.

ELMHURST, IL – Students anonymously tipped off York High's principal about an Instagram post involving guns and York, the principal said Tuesday.
In a statement to parents, Principal Shahe Bagdasarian said the post contained a movie image where guns were pointed at a person. The school's Duke logo was placed over the person's face in the image, he said.
Consulting with Elmhurst police, the school determined there was no threat to the safety of students and staff associated with the post, Bagdasarian said.

The post, he said, was connected to an annual game called "Senior Assassin" – in which seniors are assigned targets each week and work toward eliminating them with a squirt gun.
"The game is not associated with, nor cordoned by, York High School or District 205," Bagdasarian said in the statement.

Students are not allowed to take part in the game on District 205 property, he said. They are also barred from possessing water guns or fake weapons of any kind, even in their cars.
As a precautionary measure, police increased their presence around the building in the morning and after school, the principal said.
