Spirito! Singers Announces New Artistic Director

Spirito! Singers is thrilled to announce that Carling FitzSimmons has accepted the
position of Spirito! Artistic Director. Carling will begin her position with
Spirito! on June 1, 2020.

Carling is excited to get started and already has ideas on how to work through
this shelter-in-place situation, however long it lasts, and keep our singers
learning and engaged.

Carling will replace Spirito! Founder and Artistic Director Molly Lindberg who is
retiring after 12 years. States Molly, “I’m comfortable handing over the care of
‘my girls’ to Carling. I want our singers to benefit from a conductor who has
extremely high expectations but also is loving and fun. I also wanted
someone who could be a true mentor to our singers and to continue to
inspire our girls to be excellent musicians, world citizens and strong
leaders. I had committed to our Board and to our singers that I would
not retire unless I KNEW we had found the right person for this job. I am
overjoyed that Carling accepted the position with excitement and a
‘can’t wait’ attitude.”
