Spirito! Singers to Make Radio Debut
The Spirito! Singers' premier high school choir, the Bravura Ensemble to perform on WFMT.
The Spirito! Singers’ premier high school choir, the Bravura Ensemble will make its radio debut March 24th on WFMT!
Founded in 2008 by Artistic Director Molly Lindberg, Spirito! is an auditioned girls’ choral organization comprised of two distinct choirs open to girls/young women throughout the western suburbs of Chicago.
WFMT/98.7 fm is the preeminent broadcasting station for classical music programming in Chicago.

The Spirito! Bravura singers were accepted via audition to perform on WFMT’s Introductions program which airs every Saturday morning at 11:00 am. Introductions is WFMT’s weekly showcase of the Chicago area’s finest pre-college classical musicians.
“We are honored and thrilled to have been chosen for this prestigious program. We’re also thrilled that we were able to record the program at the historic Emmanuel Episcopal Church in La Grange, a church recently named to the National Register of Historic Places,” states Molly Lindberg, Spirito! Artistic Director and Founder.

Bravura will perform a short program of choral works:
-If Music Be the Food of Love, Music by David Dickau, Text by Henry Heveningham,
-God So Loved the World by Bob Chilcott
-Ave Maria by Eleanor Daley
-Summertime (from the musical “Porgy and Bess”) Music and Lyrics by George Gershwin, DuBose Heyward, Dorothy Heyward, Ira Gershwin
The Bravura Ensemble was accompanied by Matthew Gemmill and conducted by Molly Lindberg. Introductions host and producer, Michael San Gabino oversaw the recording session and WFMT sound engineer Mary Mazurek provided the recording expertise.
Tune in to Introductions on Saturday, March 24, 11am, 98.7 fm to hear Bravura perform the second half hour of the program. If you can’t tune in that morning, you can go to https://www.wfmt.com/programs/introductions/ to hear the program. Program recordings are generally posted within 24 hours of the airing.
