Spirito! Singers sponsors Choral Conducting Retreat & Workshop

Spirito! Singers, a western suburban auditioned choir for girls, is proud to present a Choral Conducting Retreat and Singer Workshop featuring internationally celebrated conductor Maestro Christopher Bell, renowned conductor and Director of DePaul University Choral Program Dr. Eric Esparza and distinguished composer/educator Catherine DeLanoy,

The retreat/workshop will take place on Saturday, February 29, 2020, 9 am-5 pm at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, Elmhurst IL.

“With no travel or hotel expenses nor burden of missing classroom time, this day is extremely accessible for teachers,” states Molly Lindberg, Spirito! founder and Artistic Director. “Plus, there’s no music preparation needed for the day. The students’ schedule and needs will be taken care of by Spirito! staff. Teachers can devote the entire day to their own growth and learning and receive professional development credit from the ILMEA. Their students will have the joy of meeting and singing with over 100 other girls who love music as much as they do!”

“We feel like this day is a gift to the music community and we’re thrilled to offer this opportunity to music teachers and singers,” states Molly. “And we’re very excited to have Christopher Bell join our line up! This is a rare opportunity to work with a maestro of this caliber.”

Maestro Bell is the Artistic Director of the Washington Chorus, Choral Director of the Chicago Grant Park Music Festival, Founder and Artistic Director of the National Youth Choir of Scotland, former Chorus Master of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Artistic Director of the Edinburgh Royal Choral Union, and Chorus Master of the Edinburgh Festival Chorus. Working with him is a chance rarely afforded outside of the major professional choruses and the National Youth Choir of Scotland.

Student attendees will have a full day of learning and singing with these esteemed conductors for only $10.00. Singers will also receive a free t-shirt. Teachers attendees will get a full day of training with all three preeminent clinicians, along with professional development credits, and lunch for $45.00. College Music Majors can attend for a reduced rate of $30.

The day will end with a free concert for families and community members at 4:30 pm.
